First Aid Legal Requirements

The Health and Safety Executive provides the following guidelines for your First Aid requirement - ​

 ' The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work'. It applies to all workplaces including self-employed.

In Summary - it's up to you to work out what you need.

The HSE provide a 'First Aid Needs Assessment'. It is your duty to ensure you read and understand the document. Pages 9-13 cover points to consider in your assessment and page 33 is the flowchart guiding what to do with your findings and how may persons need to be trained.
